dubai aquarium & underwater zoo, dubai mall

easter this year was a happy family event. though we had work for half the day, we were able to spend the rest of it together.  it was the first time for me to go to dubai mall, hehe, i was so caught up with my diving that i rarely go see the other onshore wonders! the aquarium is really awesome with real big sharks!

theme: showcasing the excellence within you…

yesterday, my daughter cheska participated in a contest in their school celebrating music month. she sang “tied together with a smile” by taylor swift and danced to “chocolate”.  me and my wife were surprised when she announced one day that she will be joining a singing contest. we were not sure that she could do it, to be honest, ‘coz we know that eversince she was small she loved dancing and was in fact very good at it, but singing!…

we know that she loves that too but we weren’t very sure… so her mom picked out a song that would fit her… she has this really low voice and we often tease her that she’s “nagbibinata” (in english, “becoming an adolescent boy”)… so we practiced every morning in the car using the ever handy ipod. her mom even taught her how to vocalize (funny, but she also has trouble singing herself) hehe. on the big day, from my wife’s story (i didn’t make it to the event because of work!) she actually sounded pretty good and we are totally proud of her!

we hope to enroll her to some music school where she can enhance her talents more. maybe she’ll grow up to be the next taylor swift or vanessa hudgens.. who knows!

uaq fishing, day four

friday early morning, we headed to the fishing site at around 2 am. it was supposed to be summer already and we weren’t expecting the cold weather.  i guess it wasn’t our lucky day at all because what we got were these 2 hammours only. so we called it a day early and passed by ajman to dive with my friend and my brother.

no smoking

getting serious this time around hehehe, it’s been a month now without cigarettes.

as i start on this quest, i would like to share my own remedy in quitting smoking, while others do therapy and some do it physically… i did mine mentally.

in doing this, i aimed to achieve something that i really want and is something important in exchange to smoking.

• as a diver – i wanted to spend more time underwater, i need healthy lungs.
• in the workplace – i’d rather not smoke than lose my non-smoking friend next to me..
• as a father – i’d like to set a good example..
• as a father, again – i’d want to have a longer life to spend with my kids.

as i decided to reconstruct seaneisa’s multiply into his own site, i choose some photos to share that has been posted previously on that account. simple yet meaningful photos for me, here are some of it.

photos were taken in ajman beach. out camping with my family and friends, i woke up early that morning to capture my first ever long exposure shot. using a tripod and a remote control i fired up a few test shots… and continued shooting till i finally got the snaps i wanted.

a success i may say for a starter and pictures worth remembering…

uae dive sites

i started scuba diving simply out of curiosity and also because my friend (actually, my boss) asked me to dive with him. i never thought i would fall in love diving… never thought it would be a gateway to relaxation after a week in the office.

as experienced, i did have trouble deciding on which gears to buy. i have rented and tested a few, i did a lot of research, reading gear reviews and experts advice. finally, i got what i wanted. next, comes planning. considering all the consequences… i found it easier to plan a  dive using the list below. this saves a lot of time in choosing a dive site. given by a friend and fellow diver… i decided to share it as well specially to those who are new to diving and in the uae.
